I regularly share new and/or exciting astronomy facts on my Twitter, @SpaceSciSteph! I’ve also done Twitter takeovers of @AGU_SciComm and @astrotweeps, and I am one of the people behind the #UniqueScientists social media presence (Twitter, Instagram), an initiative to highlight the uniqueness of STEM professionals!
Portal to the Public
I have created hands-on and interactive demonstrations of Solar System science to present in family-friendly settings through the Portal to the Public program, including in museums and at zoos.
Society for Women in Physics
I led or participated in several physics demonstration days for K-12 students through SWIP, and I assisted in writing and editing text for posters highlighting University of Michigan Physics alumni of underrepresented minorities.
FEMMES Capstone
I regularly participated in the Women+ Excelling More at Math, Engineering, and Science (FEMMES) Fall and Winter capstone events, in which 250+ middle-school-aged girls came to campus for a day of science demonstrations.
